The sixth release will continue the techno focussed “Lab Series”. After contributions from Parassela, label-owner Limo, Buck, and a split EP by Mirror_1 and Optimist it’s time for Volume 3. This time a four-tracker with four different artists. Two German heavyweights in the form of Markus Suckut and Fachwerk’s Roman Lindau will cover the a-side. While the b-side will show the Italian side of techno by Z.I.P.P.O and Guido Nemola.
Four funky, floor-focussed techno cuts round up this international affair on the third volume of Transition Lab’s Lab Series.

Transition LAB is proud to present the next vinyl release. The fifth release will continue the limited “Lab Series”. Volume 2 is a stellar four-tracker, two smooth and dubby cuts by Optimist. The B-side welcomes Mirror 1 with two dancefloor focussed techno excursions.

side A: OPTIMIST
Optimist is a timeless project. The place is indefinite and the ideas are constantly in evolution. It’s a parallel project which can’t be framed in ordinary musical patterns. Optimist is made by two producers whose identity keeps hidden behind a plot of ethereal and indistinct sounds. Their music is characterized by melodic and repetitive lines, together with insistent groove. By making new musical forms, the mix of different genres which interact with one another creates a kind of parallel universe.

side B: MIRROR 1
Mirror 1 was born tomorrow. He’s that dark soul reflected into a dusty 100-years-old mirror. You can’t figure out if what you see is real or if it is all a figment of your imagination. Music is his way of revealing the subconscious, digging deep into your soul and understanding that our dreams may become reality. Research and experimentation prove that our artistic roots go much deeper than we think. There is a mirror in each one of us.

Transition Lab are proud to present their next vinyl release, which inaugurates a new limited off shoot entitled Lab Series. The first one is made up of four cuts, two by special label friends Parassela (aka Blawan and The Analogue Cops who last summer played Limo’s festival in Torre Regina Giovanna) and two from label owner Limo and label selector Buck, so the release is a very special and familiar affair.

Opener ‘Plutoniumdealers’ is a frazzled, post apocalyptic bit of raw, hard hitting techno with paranoid synth lines, manic vocal riffs and stomping drums. It’s the sort of thing to fill a big warehouse with dirty sound where next cut ’08ag12′ is a much more supple, rubbery and Jeff Mills style piece of techno. It’s quick and slick, with buried deep voices and hundred mile an hour kicks that send you into overdrive.

On the flip, label boss Limo serves up a deep, subliminal bit of heady techno with hurried rhythm at its core. An open sense of space comes from the percolating and panning synth lines that ride up and down the mix and the end result is a classic modern cut. Lastly, ‘Gold BD’ from Buck is a jacking bit of high pressure techno with stiff hits, cantering drums and more soulful synths off in the distance to sooth the mind as the body goes wild.

TL-017 @ TRG

________________________________

*** THE MISSING LINK ***

*** TRANSITION LAB 009-010-011-012-013-014-015-016 – ELECTRONIC WAVES @ Torre Regina Giovanna***

After a fascinating first release from OL-047, Transition Lab Recordings is ready to serve up its next EP, this time from Alfredo Caforio. A remix is also included from David Flores aka TRUNCATE, ensuring this is another essential package. Italian Alfredo Caforio has appeared on labels like Bass Culture before now, and with the tracks he serves up here proves himself to have a fine grasp on deep, grainy techno.

Opener ’1 Week’ is a thick with industrial atmosphere as metallic textures and sinewy hooks ride up and down next to smooth but driven kick drums. It’s a track that teases for long sections before finally kicking off proper with coarse hits and distant but trance like pads.

The TRUNCATE remix is a much more direct and fast paced affair. It’s more slinky and streamlined and burrows ever deeper into a streamlined techno tunnel before ‘TN01T’ builds like a stormy night sky. On a bed of gallivanting techno drums, the whole thing is run through with spraying, smeared synths and whip-snapping percussive lines that bring real energy to the track.

Finally, ‘M03′ marries more smeared, buffed metal pads with a muffled but diva sounding vocal snippet and groovy drums. It’s a subtle bit of ravey warehouse action that closes out a second fresh transmission from Transition Lab.

The label will be deeply connected with clubbing and events, as it comes from this background we wish to keep our artists involved into live performances in order to make them feeling people’s vibes and reactions as much as possible. We decided not to be classified with a musical genre, our purpose is to be identified as a high quality electronic music record label, moving in a wide range of possibilities, driven by passion for techno and machines, loving what we’re doing and at the end trying to push our belief the most that we can. Ever sperimenting and at the same time having a special attitude for dance music, Transition wants to bring our spirits high, giving to the audience the possibility to enjoy our music with us andcreating a connection with them. Transition Lab Recordings is proud to present his first realese.

The label starts with 2 tracks from Ol-047. It Includes huge remix by Deadbeat (Echocord, BLKRTZ, Wagon Repair) and Roberto Clementi (Echocord, Soma). Ol-047 is the connection between genres and city. In this project the atmospheres meet the grooves and they mix together to create a unique flow that shake your body and blows your mind.

Inside the project two souls mix their shapes, Alessandro Stefanio and Andrea Santoro come from a long and deep experience in the clubbing scene either as dj and producer. They are renowned for their classy and effective djsets as well as their productions reflect all the aspects of their musical background. As solo or as duo they have collected releases on some of the best record labels in the underground and their tracks are well known for their dancefloor attitude without becoming predicted or characterless.

Though based in Montreal, Deadbeat and his ultra-textured ambient dub soundscapes made their way around the world, finding large audiences in Europe as well as in North America. Deadbeat producer Scott Monteith is a member of the same fertile Montreal scene that includes such luminaries as Akufen (Marc Leclair) and Algorithm (Jeff Milligan). Like his peers, he gained international acclaim in the early 2000s once the French-Canadian city became a hot spot for laptop techno (see the Montreal Smoked Meat compilation), thanks partly to the world-renowned Mutek festival, as well as a wealth of Montreal-based record labels.

Roberto Clementi hails from a small town on italy’s east coast somewhere between Riccione and Rome. He is much more of an inventive sound designer as opposed to an average music producer. His tech dubby – house tunes range from deep and lush to uplifting and party-pumping — often fueled by tecno subby basslines, retro-ish melodic elements, elegantly cut-up samples, and an overall warm, analog feel. He currently has releases and remixes on labels like Echocord and Soma.
